Dear Source:
"Actually, Demeo said, 'It's complicated to explain, but the last three or four weeks, it still goes to San Juan, but it's not being held up there to be processed. That's being done on St. Thomas." So now mail is being held up on St. Thomas, instead of San Juan, to be processed? That's one reading of this sentence. Another reading is "it's being processed on St. Thomas." The word "that's" is ambiguous because its reference (or antecedent, for those who were taught grammar way back when) is not clear. The news is promising, nevertheless. What about first class and priority mail? A consumer advisory counsel to educate us about the mail system – another committee, good grief, is not what we need. The public is trying to educate the postal service. The message is simple: restore timely and accurate delivery of all mail. How? Supervise, evaluate, and insist on efficiency with all workers. In other words, why not run this government agency as if it were a business? Gee, what a novel idea. Frustrated and amused.
