Offended by Political Ad

Dear Source:
I am the mother of two young black men who are productive citizens and I am offended and insulted by this political ad, and every young black man should be offended as well. I am proud of my boys and I know of dozens and dozens of other young black men who are decent citizens of our community and who would not want to be portrayed in this manner. Every citizen should be weary of this type of negative campaigning.
I must agree with Lenyse Shomo's assessment of this ad. The Mapp/Liburd team has really crossed the line. It is offensive and certainly not helpful in resolving any of our crime issues.
Our young black men need help, Mr. Mapp and Mr. Liburd, and your portrayal of them is damaging. Both of you were in government – what have you done to help our young men? I strongly suggest that you forget about wanting to be Governor and Lt. Governor and join the Police Force, as volunteers – assisting our young men in being the best they could be.
