Woodson School Reinforces Uniform Policy

Aug. 24, 2006 – The John H. Woodson Junior High School reminds parents and guardians that the school's uniform policy will be strictly enforced this school year, according to a press release from Woodson Jr. H. S.
"Beginning August 2006, each student will be expected to comply with the following dress code," said Principal Vaughn Hewitt. "Failure to comply with the dress code will result in the student(s) being sent home until the appropriate adjustment(s) to the uniform is made."
The school's uniform policy is as follows:
Girls
. Plain white button down shirt/blouse, with collar worn inside of skirt.
. Plaid skirt, accordion pleated from the waist to the knee
. Shoes or sneakers (black, white or maroon only)
. No high heels, pumps or boots
. No ornamental, splits, pants-skirts or wraps
Boys
. Plain white button down shirt with collar worn inside of pants
. Maroon pants worn on the waist (no other color)
. No excessively large or baggy, cargo or carpenter pants
. No ornamentations or logos on pants
. Shoes or sneakers (black, white or maroon only)
Jewelry
The following is allowed:
. One pair of earrings for girls; if male student wears earring, only one is to be worn
. One pair of bracelets or bangles and one chain
The following are not allowed: sunglasses, except with a doctor's note; oversized jewelry, makeup, hats or electronic devices (games, phones, beepers, radios, CD players and walkmans)
"Parents will be called to pick up students who are not in compliance with the school's policies and regulations," said Hewitt.
