Alert: Candidate Debates Changed Due to Weather

Aug. 26, 2006 – Ivy Moses, St. John Democratic Club spokeswoman, said Saturday that due to the possibility of inclement weather the club has made new arrangements for the primary debates this weekend.
Originally the debates were to be held at bandstand in the Frank Powell Park. The debates have been moved to the Westin Beach Report Ballroom.
The schedule is as follows:
Lieutenant Governor Candidate Debate
New Location: Westin Beach Resort Ballroom
6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26
Questions will be generated from the audience present
Gubernatorial Candidate Debate
New Location: Westin Beach Resort Ballroom
6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27
Questions will be generated from the audience present
Senatorial Candidate Debate
Debate will include the Senator-at-Large Candidates
New Location: Westin Beach Resort Ballroom
6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28
Questions will be generated from the audience present
The future of the Democratic Club as well as the future of the St. Thomas/St. John District is in the hands of the individuals taking part in the debates, Moses said in an e-mail announcing the change of venue.
