U.S.V.I. to Participate at THETRADESHOW in Orlando

Aug. 31, 2006 – The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism will be participating in the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) and the United States Tour Operators Association's (USTOA) new travel retailing and destination expo, THETRADESHOW. It will take place from Sept. 10 through Sept. 13, in Orlando, Fla. Colleagues from the U.S.V.I. hotel industry will join representatives from Tourism to promote and sell tourism to America's Caribbean
The show will be offering two days of open trade floor exhibitions, business-to-business appointments, world-class education and professional development opportunities, and a special consumer day. THETRADESHOW is expected to attract 3,000 travel sellers and suppliers, 1,000 consumers and more than 500 exhibitors from all over the world.
"We are excited to be a part of the inaugural THETRADESHOW event," said USVI Tourism Commissioner Pamela C. Richards. "The format of the show provides an additional opportunity for the U.S. Virgin Islands to connect directly with our retail partners, consumers and travel media — all at one event. We look forward to sharing up-to-the-minute information about the attractions and offerings that make America's Caribbean the destination of choice in the Caribbean."
