A&E @ CCT VI Presents an Evening of Art and Music

Sept. 6, 2006 – Arts and Entertainment @ Caribbean Community Theater will present an evening of visual arts featuring paintings by Adrienne Brown, photography by Tanja McPherson and entertainment by Judi Fricks, Charles Lindberg, Debby Babb, Devin and Valerie Hennessy and others.
The art show will begin at 6 p.m. and the entertainment will begin at 8 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 16, at CCT, No. 18 Estate Orange Grove, St. Croix. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. There will be hors d'oeuvres, desserts and a cash bar (bring a dish to share). Business World sponsors the event.
Adrienne Brown has been creating art since the age of four in St. Louis, Missouri. She won numerous awards for artistic achievement as a teenager and began exhibiting with professional artists at the age of fourteen. Adrienne attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, after which she freelanced for a couple of years before leaving to start a new life on St. Croix. Adrienne's unique style blurs the line between realism and abstract. Her use of a variety of media makes it difficult to categorize her work.
Tanja McPherson's first love has always been photography. She started taking pictures at the age of seven, and she has taken her camera on travels throughout South-East Asia, the Americas, Europe, and, more recently, parts of the Middle East. She has done some professional photography on St. Croix, and her work has been published on St. Croix and in Canada. You might be familiar with her joyful Caribbean paintings or Chakra Art, which she has exhibited and sold in a variety of venues, including her own Christiansted store, Sunny L'Attitudes, but it is her photography that she wants to share at this exhibit.
