Dear Source:
As far as I'm aware (but please correct me if I'm wrong) no major airport terminal in the United States or the world has a franchise agreement with a particular taxi company or taxi organization which precludes any other entity from picking up and transporting arriving passengers to their destinations.
For goodness' sake! All you taxi people have sufficient business available to you if you get the word around that you're available after 10 PM or, if not, offer a really nice island tour or else pool your money into a water taxi operation. The latter will come eventually whether you like it or not and you'd be all sorts of foolish if you continue with this tunnel vision…
I'm flabbergasted at many of the judgements which the Honorable Judge Kendall has handed down during his relatively short tenure on the bench. As I recall, his appointment was challenged from the get-go by the V.I. Bar Association which felt that his lack of hands-on judicial experience was detrimental to justice being properly served. In my opinion, his ruling in this instance and the levies he's imposed are without merit. I trust that the attorneys involved are compus mentis at least!
