Former Employee Is Disturbed by Vitelco Story

Dear Source:
This news about Vitelcois disturbing, especially as related to what it means for the people of the U. S. Virgin Islands.
I am an ex-employee of Vitelco, having worked on St. Croix from 1973 through 1989, mostly under the leadership of Mr. J. W. Basford and Mr. J. E. Kean, who had surrounded themselves with what I considered the best talent available in the telephone industry, anywhere. I will always appreciate those years working with the wonderful people of the Virgin Islands. Those years saw Vitelco go from a small "rural" telephone company to a modern all-digital state-of-the-art company providing world-class service to the USVI. We were justifiably proud of our Company, Vitelco.
I'm saddened this has happened, and will be watching the news in the Source. Thank you for covering this story.
