Sept. 25, 2006 – All girls between the ages of 6 and 17, and their parents are invited to a Girls' Fun Day from 1-5:30 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Bellevue Village on Gift Hill Road. The Girl Scout Council of the Virgin Islands sponsors the event.
Mini-workshops will consist of hands-on activities such as cake decorating, cooking, water coloring, digital photography, juggling, jump roping, jewelry making, palm frond crafts, line dancing, singing, hair plaiting and more. Girls who would like to participate in hair plaiting should bring their hairbrush and comb, and girls who would like to do digital photography should bring a digital camera. Cameras will also be available. Participants will get to take home a print of their best photos from this workshop. A parenting discussion group will also be held.
Snacks, water and juices will be provided. Door prizes and prizes for the best in each workshop will be awarded.
Girls and parents can come for the whole time, or part of the time. they will meet members of the Girl Scout Council of the Virgin Islands and can sign up as a supporting member or as a prospective leader.

Members of the community who would like to support this Fun Day, but are unable to participate, can make a donation to the Girl Scout Council of the Virgin Islands, and mark your check "for St. John Girls' Fun Day."
