Police Searching for Clues in Murder at Car Wash

Sept. 27, 2006 — As of Wednesday, the V.I. Police Department had no leads into the killing of a 20-year-old man in Krondprindsens Gade.
Police spokeswoman Shawna Richards said that Kendahl Brathwaite of Estate Thomas was shot shortly before midnight Monday.
Richards said that Police responded to reports of the shooting incident at Benji Bay Car on lower Kronprindsens Gade just before midnight and found Braithwaite alive but "suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body."
He was rushed to Schneider Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery but died at 4:13 a.m. Tuesday, she said.
The car wash, which is open 24 hours, is located just across from the V.I. Labor Department's office.
Brathwaite's killing is the 31st in the territory and the 17th on St. Thomas.
Police are asking anyone with information about the homicide to contact the Major Crime hotline at 715-5544 or 911. All information will be kept confidential, Richards said.
