Bermuda Tops Dominican Republic 3-1 in Caribbean Cup

Sept. 29, 2006 – Bermuda again dominated Caribbean Cup play, putting away the Dominican Republic soccer team 3-1 at Lionel Roberts Stadium on St. Thomas Friday night.
Ajame Zuill scored Bermuda's first goal in the 25th minute, and Darius Cox scored the second goal to open the second half in the 48th minute.
Kivame Steeds, who scored two goals against the Virgin Islands in Bermuda's 6-0 win Wednesday, added the third goal on a corner kick in the 53rd minute.
Jonathan Fana scored the Dominicans' lone goal in the 85th minute.
Physical play resulted in three red cards, two against the Dominican Republic.
The D.R.'s Freddy Medina was ejected in the 52nd minute for "violent conduct," said the referee.
An altercation between Dominican forward Carlos Reyes and Bermudan defender Kentoing Jennings in the 75th minute resulted in both players being ejected.
Bermuda leads the group with two wins and advances to the next round. The Virgin Islands plays the Dominican Republic Sunday at 3 p.m. and needs to win by at least six points to advance in the Caribbean Cup, a qualifier for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
