'Tempo Turns One' Anniversary Event Set for Nov. 4 Weekend

Sept. 30, 2006 – Last night Frederick Morton Jr., senior vice president, general manager and founder of Tempo, announced plans for Tempo Turns One, the channel's one-year anniversary celebration. The Caribbean's premiere entertainment television network will celebrate their one-year anniversary with a huge party the weekend of Nov. 4, on St. Croix. R&B and reggae artist Jimmy Cozier and soca star Denise (Saucy Baby) Belfon recently joined Morton on stage at the Reichhold Center for the Arts and gave a blow out performance for the Tempo Turns One Anniversary.
To celebrate the success and future of the network, and give thanks to its passionately committed audience, the network has planned an exciting weekend of special guests, parties, promotions, prizes and surprises. Headline artists include: Morgan Heritage, Alison Hinds, Machel Montano, Denise Belfon and many others. The festivities will be held on Cramer's Park East End Beach on St. Croix. Five lucky grand prize winners of bmobile and Tempo's Pull Up Selecta "Mix it Up" promotion will receive an all expense paid trip to Tempo Turns One with a weekend of exceptional activities, including VIP access to the anniversary concert, a celebrity brunch, a private selecta session and a dance clinic with a top choreographer. Tempo's VJ's and hosts will be on hand and in the mix including the empress, Jeanille Bonterre, and your island girl, Anushca. Mr. Rockin U himself, Dahved Levy, will be the master of ceremonies.
The following corporations have signed on to sponsor Tempo Turns One: Innovative Cable TV, the government of the Virgin Islands, American Airlines, DIVI Carina Bay, Heineken, University of The Virgin Islands, The Reichhold Center for the Arts, JKC Communications, West Indies Corporation, Cruzan Rum, Budget Rent A Car, Billy D's Special Tees, First Bank, VI Hotel & Tourism Association, and IB Designs.
"I am extremely thankful for the love of Caribbean people and the many blessings Tempo has received over the past year. As we reflect on the past and look to the future, we wanted to celebrate the vision and mission of Tempo, to unite the Caribbean through culture. As Tempo turns one, we celebrate the "oneness" that is being created…to raise one flag, as we are truly one people united together in one cause, moving to the beat of One Tempo for the elevation of one Caribbean. So Caribbean People, Tempo loves you…let's celebrate our channel as Tempo Turns One," said Morton.
