CZM Application Withdrawn for Coral Bay Apartment Building

Oct. 12, 2006 – The St. John Coastal Zone Management Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday was canceled after the applicants withdrew their application for a three-story apartment building in a residential area of Coral Bay.
Leslie and Myrine Marsh Hodge had planned to construct the 11-unit building on one-third of an acre of hillside land. The property is located off Route 107 on Bordeaux Road, near the couple's home.
Leslie Hodge declined to comment Thursday on why he and his wife withdrew their application.
At the Sept. 20 CZM meeting, neighbor John Costanzo complained that the building would obstruct his view and his breeze.
Costanzo and committee members also said that the 11 parking spaces planned for the eight one-bedroom and three two-bedroom apartments were inadequate for the project.
