Roadrunners Will Hold Walk/Run Against Breast Cancer

Oct. 23, 2006 The St. Thomas Association of Roadrunners will hold its 9th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. There will be a 2-mile run that will start at the Coast Guard Dock and a 1-mile walk that will start at Addelita Cancryn Junior High School, with both of them merging at Emancipation Gardens. The run will begin and finish at the dock.
The Walk and Run will benefit the St. Thomas-St. John Unit of the American Cancer Society. It will begin at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29.
Awards will be presented to the top male and female, and the first place finishers in eight age categories. Commemorative victory medals will go to the first 100 finishers. All participants will receive souvenirs.
Register at The Caribbean Surf Company in Havensight Mall, Antilles School, or Jackson Complex and Wellness Center. Early fees are $7 for adults and $4 for youth, 18 and younger. The fee on race day is $10. Relay for Life teams and other organizations are encouraged to participate in the race. A small donation will be accepted at the start.
