What's Up Next on the Doug Lewis Show

Nov. 28, 2006 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3. This Sunday we will feature Cat Stevens, Butch Hancock, Ralph McTell, Nanci Griffith, Otis Redding and more.
Special note:
We had some technical problems at the station this past Sunday. The show eventually did run from 3-5 p.m., but there were problems with sound quality at times during the show. We apologize for the poor broadcast quality on Sunday; therefore, WVGN will air the Nov. 26 show in its entirety once again from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 1. The first hour's giveaway prize was already awarded, but listeners still have an opportunity to call between noon and 1 p.m., on Friday to try to win the Lindsey Buckingham EP.

The Modern Music Feature CD is the brand new one from the man formerly known as Cat Stevens. Since his conversion to the Muslim faith he goes by the name of Yusuf Islam. The CD is titled "An Other Cup," and the sound is reminiscent of the recordings he made during his Cat Stevens days. This is his first CD of new secular songs in over 20 years.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "War and Peace," a new release from Texas artist Butch Hancock. Butch is a great songwriter, who is also a member of the acclaimed Texas band, the Flatlanders.
We celebrate the birthday of Mickey Thomas, who has sung with both the Elvin Bishop Band and Jefferson Starship. We also celebrate the birthdays of Americana artist Jeff Blackand and British folk singer Ralph McTell.
We include music from Otis Taylor, who will be playing on Jan. 24, at Tillett Gardens on St. Thomas and the music of Angelique Kidjo, who will appear on Jan. 13, at the Reichhold Center. We also play music from Orleans, who will be playing on Feb. 17, at Sapphire Beach on St. Thomas. The concert is a fundraiser for the Nana Baby Home.
We play new music from Tom Chapin, Nanci Griffith, Guy Clark, the Robert Cray Band and more.
We also include music from Keb Mo, Otis Redding, Mitch Woods, the Elvin Bishop Group, the Flatlanders and more.

Tune in for a chance to win an acoustic blues CD from William Lee Ellis, a CD from singer-songwriter Leni Stern and an EP from Ben Taylor, who is the son of James Taylor and Carly Simon.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; Molly Molones and St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
