Brief: Havensight Mall Christmas Tree Lighting Set for Dec. 6

Nov. 29, 2006 — There'll be plenty of old-fashioned yuletide fun during the Havensight Mall annual Christmas tree lighting. The official program begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 6, with the tree-lighting ceremony followed by the arrival of Santa Claus to distribute gifts to the first 1,000 children.
Entertainment for the evening will be provided by Cool Sessions, Pyour Passion, Milos Kings, BCB Steel Band, Mongo Niles Cultural Dancers, Prophecy Elementary Quadrille Dancers and Mocko Jumbie Jamboree. The evening's festivities will conclude at 9 p.m.
This event is sponsored by Havensight Merchants and Professional Association, the West Indian Co., Ltd. and The Committee to Revive Our Culture.
A release from the merchants association invites everyone to "enjoy local foods, arts and crafts, visit with old friends, mingle with our island guests and shop for everyone on your Christmas list. Be sure to ask for your local discount at participating stores."
