HOVENSA Conducts Successful Blood Drive

Nov. 30, 2006 – HOVENSA collected 124 units of blood on Nov. 29, from its employees, the employees' spouses, and its contractors during the semi-annual blood drive at the refinery, according to Dr. Cora L. Christian, chief medical consultant for the company.
"These blood drives are always successful because of the support of donors who appreciate the fact that these donations can make the difference between life and death for someone in need of a blood transfusion," she said.
The blood donations are given to the St. Croix Blood Bank for use by patients at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Christian thanked the blood donors as well as the persons who assisted the staff of the HOVENSA Medical Unit in conducting the drive, including the staff of the St. Croix Blood Bank and the licensed practical nursing students at the St. Croix Career and Technical Education Center.
