What's Up Next on the Doug Lewis Show

Dec. 5, 2006 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 10. This Sunday we will feature the Beatles, Kristin DeWitt, Maria Sangiolo, the Austin Lounge Lizards and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Love" by the Beatles. This CD was produced by George Martin and his son Giles Martin. The project had the blessings of Paul and Ringo as well as the widows of John and George. This is an ingenious CD where the producers re-work a number of Beatle songs, use bits and pieces from different songs and occasionally use demo tracks as well to create new versions of these songs. Because George Martin was the Beatles' producer, he is perfectly qualified to take on this project, and he treats the music with the proper respect to create vibrant and exciting new versions of these songs.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Here Now" by Texas vocalist Kristin DeWitt. While DeWitt has spent the bulk of her career as a harmony singer for various artists, she now has released her own CD, and with her great voice, she provides us with great interpretations of the works of various fine songwriters. Kristin will be on St. Thomas as a backup and harmony vocalist performing with Sara Hickman for her concert at Tillett Gardens on March 14.
We celebrate the birthday of folk artist Maria Sangiolo. We remember John Duffey of the bluegrass band Seldom Scene, Rick Danko of the Band, and folk singer Kate Wolf on the anniversaries of their deaths.
We include music from Angelique Kidjo, who appears at the Reichhold Center on Jan. 13. We also play music from Anna Cheek, who is currently playing various venues throughout the Virgin Islands.
We include new music from singer-songwriter Chris Rosser, the Austin Lounge Lizards, Catie Curtis, Nanci Griffith and more.
We also include music from Ruthie Foster, Long John Baldry, the Blues Magoos, Bruce Cockburn, Professor Longhair and more.

Tune in for a chance to win a CD from Elvis Costello, a CD from new blues oriented artist Angel, and a new sampler from blues great Buddy Guy.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; and Molly Molones; and St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
