Governor-Elect Is a Breath of Fresh Air

Dear Source:
It is quite exciting and interesting to watch the dramatic change-in just a few weeks–in how this new elected Governor John deJongh is approaching the people's business!
When else have we ever seen a picture of a "Transition Team" sitting in the Governor's office with the goal of finding out the status of affairs in the VI's with a clear focus on the best interest of the Islands? The transition website is another example of a new and exciting way of doing things! What a breath of fresh air to a usually anxious, often distrustful (all legitimate!) community of people wondering what kinds of decisions will be made and how they will be impacted. You as a citizen are invited to submit resumes should you feel you have skills to contribute to bettering the operation of our government and encouraged to comment on the present government issues that need attention.
I hope that this website is slammed with e-mails from everyone who cares about these Islands. Don't allow your understandable hopelessness with government to stand in the way. Get involved by sending in comments about your concerns. It is imperative that we offer our direct community experiences and share possible solutions to this new Administration. It is easy to hang onto old negative opinions about government. I truly believe that deJongh has already demonstrated, in this short time, inclusiveness and openness in a way that has earned both my respect and optimism. Thank God! I urge all citizens to express their concerns on this website! It is imperative that we do.
Each of us, within our local communities, know what the problems are–let's help solve them.
