Alvis A. Raymond, Dead at 62

Dec. 12, 2006 Alvis A. Raymond, better known as "Blakie," of Anna's Retreat died at home, on Dec. 7, at age 62.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Francis-Raymond; daughters: Charise R. Raymond and Lisa P. Melendez; and son, Luis Melendez. He is also survived by sisters: Eudelta Joseph, Marion "Goldie" Smith, Muriel "Betty" Rhymer and L. Patrice Raymond; brothers: Alvin, Bernard and Aubrey "Buntin" Raymond; and uncles: Rupert Scales and Author "Bouy" Hodge. Other survivors include six grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held from 4-6 p.m., on Sunday, Dec 17, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. A second viewing will be held from 8:30-9:45 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 18, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., at the church. Interment will be in Western Cemetery No. 3.
