Angelique Kidjo Will Speak at UVI Forum

Dec. 29, 2006 – Reichhold Center for the Arts and The African Association of St. Thomas-St. John will present "An Evening with International Music Star Angelique Kidjo" at 6 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 11. She will discuss her extensive career on the world stage as well as the impact of African music on music of the Caribbean and Latin America.
Moderators for this forum include Gene Emanuel, humanities professor, UVI; and Solomon Kabuka, president, African Association.
The event will take place on St. Thomas at the University of the Virgin Islands, Chase Auditorium. St. Croix students and residents can participant via videolink at the University of UVI St. Croix campus, Evans Center Theater. The forum offers a preview of Kidjo's scheduled performance to be held at Reichhold Center on Jan.13. For more information, call 693-1563.
