Gov.-elect DeJongh Names Interim Department Heads

Dec. 29, 2006 — Gov.-elect John deJongh on Friday announced the appointment of individuals to serve as department and agency heads on an interim basis. The appointments will be made effective Jan. 1 , 2007, when deJongh takes office.
"These individuals will serve until permanent appointments are made to lead the various government departments, agencies and bureaus," deJongh said.
According to a press release issued Friday afternoon,
all individuals selected are already working within the various government institutions.

Interim department heads are:
–Police: James McCall
–Education: Dr. Lauren Larsen
–Justice: Elliot McIver Davis
–Tourism: Monique Sibilly-Hodge
–Human Services: Moleto Smith
–Property and Procurement: Lynn Millin
–Licensing and Consumer Affairs: Grace Fahie
–Planning and Natural Resources: Claudette Lewis
–Labor: Arah Lockhart
–Agriculture: Stafford Crossman
–Health: Phyllis Wallis
–Housing, Parks and Recreation: St. Claire N. Williams
–Public Works: Robert Moorehead
–Finance: Austin Nibbs (effective mid-January, since current Finance Commissioner Bernice Turnbull has been asked to remain in the position to make certain that government financial functions are not impacted during the change of leadership)
Interim agency and bureau heads are:
–Bureau of Internal Revenue: Gizette Canegata-Thomas
–Division of Personnel: Kenneth Hermon Jr.
–VITEMA: Stevelyn Parris
–Fire Services: Glenn Francis
–Office of Management and Budget: Debra Gottlieb
–Public Finance Authority: Cherrie Cole
