Jan. 4, 2007– V.I. Police Department Cpl. Ludrick "Ludie T" Thomas, a recent contender for a Senate seat on St. Thomas, has been placed on administrative leave without pay for allegedly making "unwanted sexual advances" toward a female officer.
According to a press release issued Thursday by the department, Thomas has been placed on administrative leave and has surrendered his badge, firearm and police identification pending the outcome of an investigation into the allegations.
The investigation will be handled by the Office of the Attorney General.
The Police Department is committed to providing a work environment that is free from sexual harassment and other types of discriminatory actions, acting Commissioner James McCall said in the release.
The Police Department maintains a zero tolerance policy regarding sexual harassment in the workplace, he added.
