RHCA to Hold Salt Pond Cleanup
The Red Hook Community Alliance will hold a second cleanup of the Red Hook Salt Pond at 6:30 a.m., on Saturday, June 16, as part of their Red Hook Salt Pond preservation effort. The RHCA is partnering with the V.I. Division of Fish and Wildlife on this project.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the dirt road east of the Red Hook pond and wear long pants, work shoes, a long-sleeved shirt and gloves. Water and trash bags will be provided, and first-aid kits and hand sanitizer will be available. This cleanup is an important step toward prepping the pond for the installation of a boardwalk and viewing platforms.
