Dear Source:
Seeing the picture of David on the Source today brought back so many memories. I see David making me laugh when I was seeking pity over some minor affront. His sense of humor took no prisoners.
David was one of the kindest souls I have ever met. And so much fun. (I tend to like anyone who laughs at my jokes, but David's laughs had to be earned.)
Many an afternoon we would repair to Williams & Daniels upstairs Main Street bar and restaurant and drink what he called "bad nasties," club soda and Roses' Lime Juice in a martini glass, with a lime squeeze. Though it wasn't a popular order with the bartender, we thought we were terribly clever. And David certainly was. I'd march up there right now and drink one in his honor, if only W&D still existed. Cheers, David. Your legacy has served many.
