If the police and people at such a large event are not making any noise about drugs in the vicinity around family and kids, that is what promotes illegal activity and gives the impression that it is acceptable. The real concern should be that it did exist and nothing was being done about it. Instead of trying to censor a truthful writer, how about making enough noise to the Police Dept get rid of the real problem so that it doesn't exist for anyone to write about.
Putting on blinders, covering it up or being offended by a truthful experience is not going to make it go away. Complaining to the Police Dept that drugs were taking place at an event where children were at, until the Police are sick of hearing about it and do something about it, might make a difference.
Being a parent and grandparent, my concern is not that somebody wrote about it. My concern is that the problem existed for anyone to write about it at all.
The point being missed is that there is a drug problem that needs to be taken care of.
