Education Schedules Paraprofessional Assessment Internet-based Exams

July 10, 2007 – The July 2007 ParaPro Assessment Internet-based Testing (iBT) will be administered on Monday, July 23, at the Curriculum Center, St. Croix, according to a press release from the Education Department, Division of Human Resources.
Eighteen slots are available for that date. The cost of the exam is $40 to be payable by money order and is due at the time of registration. It is non-refundable. Examinees unable to sit the exam following the registration are subject to an additional fee of $10 to reschedule. The department will pay for all paraprofessionals currently employed with the department in each district and who do not currently meet the highly qualified status to take the exam on the scheduled date or other limited future dates. Space will be available on a first come first serve basis.
Paraprofessionals, who must meet the highly qualified requirement pursuant to the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), and paraprofessional applicants are asked to visit the Division of Human Resources Offices:
St. Croix – Curriculum Center at Kingshill or St. Thomas-St. John – Main Complex on Kongens Gade, between 8-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to sign up for the exams and obtain study materials.
