Volunteers Needed to Clean Up Red Hook Salt Pond
The Red Hook Community Alliance (RHCA) will hold a third cleanup of the Red Hook Salt Pond at 7 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 18, as part of their preservation effort. Volunteers are asked to meet at the dirt road east of the Red Hook pond. They should wear long pants, work shoes, a long sleeved shirt and gloves. Water and trash bags will be provided. First-aid kits and hand sanitizer will be available. This cleanup is an important step toward prepping the pond for the installation of a boardwalk, viewing platforms and signage.
For further information, call RHCA President Andrea King at 344-2143 or visit the Web site at www.rhca.vi for updates.
