Annual Tommy Star Awards Seeks Nominations

Aug. 21, 2007 – On November 10, the USVI Hotel & Tourism Association will hold the 6th Annual Tommy Star Awards and Gala at the Marriott's Frenchman's Reef Resort. Individuals who are employed in the hospitality industry and exemplify the highest standards of hospitality will be honored in the following categories:
Hotel Associate of the Year; Retail Associate of the Year; Hotel Supervisor of the Year; Attraction/Activity Associate of the Year; Taxi Operator of the Year; Restaurant Associate of the Year; Airline Representative of the Year; Public Service Representative of the Year; and Hospitality Support Service Associate of the Year.
You are asked to support this event by nominating an employee within the tourism and hospitality industry who meets these highest standards of hospitality:
1) Must have excellent customer service skills should be an enthusiastic individual
2) Must have pride in their work, the industry, and the Virgin Islands
3) Must be involved in both their place of employment and within the community
4) Should be knowledgeable about the USVI tourism industry
5) Must possess leadership qualities and integrity

Executive committee members and owners are excluded from nominations. All nomination forms and required information are to be returned to the association's office via fax to 774-4993, no later than Friday, Aug. 31. Nominations should be submitted by either the Human Resources or Executive Department.
