Who Nex Slams Just 4 Fun 20-7 in Softball Action

Aug. 21, 2007 — Who Nex defeated Just 4 Fun 20-7 in the first of three Donald O. Senthill Modified pitch softball league games Monday evening at the Emile Griffith Ballpark on St. Thomas.
Just 4 Fun kept the score within striking distance, but Who Nex erupted in the fifth inning for six runs, including a bases-clearing triple by Daphne Thomas. She was the leading hitter for her team, going 4 for 5 for the game. The leading hitter for Just 4 Fun was Jahkema Richards, going 2 for 4.
In the second game of the evening, Nu Beginin beat the Lady Falcons 15-8. Top hitters for Nu Beginin were Hillary Corbett and Gail Christopher, both 2 for 2. The Lady Falcons was led by Michelle Georges, 2 for 3, and Meadisha Francis, 2 for 2.
In the final game of the night, the Rookies edged the Fugitivos 7-6. The Rookies got home runs from Michael Thomas and Aaron Shelford, combined with strong pitching from Byron Evans, to carry them to the victory.
