Crucian Christmas Festival Schedule

Aug. 30, 2007 — "55th Anniversary: Culture, History and Tradition remain on the slate for Festival 2007 – 2008" is the theme for this years' Crucian Christmas Festivals. Here is the full schedule of activities:
— Saturday, Dec. 1: The Festival kickoff features an old time traditional parade with masqueraders and lots of fun. It begins at 8 p.m. from Times Square in Christiansted down King Street, around to Company Street, and back to Times Square.
— Sunday, Dec. 2: The Prince, Princess and Duchess Pageant will be held at the St. Croix Educational Center beginning at 4p.m. $5 for Children and $10 for adults at the door
— Friday, Dec 14: Calypso Monarch eliminations begin at 8 p.m. at Harborlites Night Club in Frederiksted.
— Sunday, Dec. 16: The Miss and Mr. St. Croix pageant begins at 5 p.m. at the Island Center for the Performing Arts.
— Thursday, Dec. 20: Coney Island rides open at 5 p.m. at Festival Village.
— Friday, Dec. 21: "Stop the Violence" Reggae concert at the Paul E. Joseph Stadium 8 p.m. – Local and stateside bands
— Saturday, Dec. 22: Grand Band-O-Rama at the Paul E. Joseph Stadium 8 p.m. – More than 8 bands are participating.
— Sunday, Dec. 23: Party Monarch Competition at the Paul E. Joseph Stadium 8 p.m.
— Tuesday, Dec. 25: Concert at Buddhoe Park – Event description to be announced.
— Wednesday, Dec 26: Festival Village opens with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. The official opening night tramp will begin at the Frederiksted Post Office at 7 p.m. and end at the Festival Village.
— Saturday, Dec 29: Crucian, Latin and Eastern Caribbean culture takes center stage with Cultural Night in the Festival Village beginning at 8 p.m. The annual Quelbe tramp begins at 8 p.m. at the Frederiksted Post office to the Festival Village.
— Sunday, Dec. 30: The action is on the water with the annual Water Sports day. See all the action beginning from noon at the Fort Frederik Beach in Frederiksted.
— Tuesday. Jan. 1: Old Time Steel Band Tramp starting at Hannahs Rest corner beginning at 6 a.m.
— Tuesday. Jan. 1: It's Latin Night with merengue, pachanga and bolero dancing at in the Frederiksted Village beginning at 8 p.m.
— Wednesday, Jan 2: The annual Food, Arts and Crafts Fair beginning at noon at the Ann Heyliger Vegetable Market
— Wednesday, Jan 2: Calypso Monarch Finals will satisfy your appetite for stinging political satire and biting social commentary. The show begins at 8 p.m. at Island Center for the Performing Arts.
— Thursday, Jan 3: A can't-miss event! J'ouvert is scheduled for 5 a.m. Participants gather at Hannah's Rest corner.
— Thursday, Jan 3: The best of the Caribbean will be on display at the Festival Village. The Caribbean Night Extravaganza begins at 8 p.m. See the magic and splendor of the Adult and Junior King and Queen of the Bands!
–Friday, Jan. 4: It’s the children's time to shine at the annual Children's Parade, which begins at 10 a.m. from the Claude O. Markoe School to the Festival Village.
–Saturday, Jan. 5: The Adult's Parade brings the Festival to a close. The parade begins at 10 a.m. from the Claude O. Markoe School to the Festival Village.

The Festival Village is scheduled to open from Wednesday, Dec.26 through Saturday, Jan. 5. The entertainment schedule for the Village will be released at a later date. The schedule is subject to change.
