Sept. 13, 2007 — Interruptions in water service are expected on St. Thomas starting Thursday evening as the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority conducts surveys to detect leaks, according to a WAPA statement.
WAPA aims to cut down on water line loss with the surveys, which are expected to last roughly 12 hours.
From 6 p.m. to midnight Thursday, surveys will take place from the Inspection Lane westward into Sub Base. From midnight to 6 a.m. Friday, surveys will be conducted from the Inspection Lane eastward along Veterans Drive, including Frenchtown, to Windward Passage, the statement said.
WAPA urged customers to be ready for possible interruptions, and motorists were requested to drive cautiously in work areas, especially near WAPA technicians and/or equipment.
