CCT Announces its 2007-2008 Season

Oct. 5, 2007 – The Caribbean Community Theatre's 2007-2008 Season will include six shows–four comedies and two musicals– including: "Anybody Out There?" "Chicago," "The Graduate," "The Last of the Red Hot Lovers," "Pump Boys and Dinettes" and "The Lone Star Love Potion."
Written by John Patrick and directed by Starla Richter, "Anybody Out There?" is a wildly farcical comedy, which deals with the uproarious metamorphosis of a shy milksop into a fearless hero after he has been told that he has only six months to live. Performance dates are Nov. 2-17, 2007.
CCT's big musical this season will be "Chicago" directed by Annaly Babb-Guerra with music direction by Kathleen Dodge DeHaven. Written by John Kander and Fred Ebb, it features a dazzling score and dynamic dance numbers. Auditions are at 7 p.m., on Nov. 5 and 6. Performance dates are Feb. 8 -23, 2008.
"The Graduate," directed by Debby Babb, is sure to entertain the audience as much as the original movie did back in the 1960s. The comedy, based on the movie as well as the novel by Charles Webb, is about a college student spending his first summer out of school in the arms of his father's best friend's wife, and then falling in love with her daughter. Performance dates are March 28 through April 12, 2008.
"The Last of the Red Hot Lovers" is a wildly funny comedy from the pen of Neil Simon about a happily married 47-year-old man who, wanting to join the sexual revolution, tries to have an affair, with disastrous results. This production will be directed by Christine Thomas. Performance dates are May 9-24, 2008.
"Pump Boys and Dinettes" is a fantastic country and western musical revue by Wann, Morgan, Monk, Foley, Schimmel and Hardwick. It will be directed by Eileen Bishop Des Jardins with musical direction by Patrick Baron. Performance dates are June 13-28, 2008.
"The Lone Star Love Potion," written by Michael Parker and directed by Debby Babb, is a fast-paced American farce that will keep the audience in stitches. Performance dates are July 25 through Aug. 9, 2008.
All events are at CCT's Theater at No. 18 Estate Orange Grove, Christiansted, St. Croix.
