E.A.S.T. Plans a Frog Count

Jan. 8, 2008 – The Environmental Association of St. Thomas-St. John plans a frog count at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Magens Bay.
Amphibian species across the planet are becoming extinct at a pace faster than any previously experienced, and nearly a third of all remaining amphibian species are threatened with extinction. In response to these global declines, the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources have declared 2008 to be the Year of the Frog.
Come out and celebrate by hunting for frogs on the Magens Bay adventure trail with amphibian expert Renata Platenberg. Bring a flashlight or headlamp and plenty of bug spray.
For information, call Renata at 775-6762 or Dalma at 774-1837.
