Brief: Christensen Launches New Website

Jan. 25, 2008 — Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen has a new website.
"On an attractive blue background with images of the Virgin Islands and Washington, D.C., flashing in the background, the new website is user-friendly and easier for constituents and visitors to access," says a news release from the delegate's office.
The address for the new site is donnachristensen.house.gov.
"We are pleased to present a fresh face for the New Year that allows visitors to the site to access more recent information than in the past," Christensen said. "The website was designed by Virgin Islander Armand 'Kerry' Davila, who owns and operates a web-development business in the Washington, D.C., metro area. We plan a few more interactive improvements to the site in the coming months."
Visitors to the site can now find streaming video of her floor statements, access to information on academy nominations, flag requests and tours, as well as the popular "Write Your Representative" feature. Other staples include biographical information and a shortened history of the Virgin Islands, easier access to all bills sponsored and co-sponsored by the delegate from the 106th through 110th Congress.
The site also features direct links to the committees that she serves on, including the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Insular Affairs, which she chairs. There are also links to her caucuses and to Thomas and the Library of Congress, which are important online research tools.
"I hope that everyone who has online access will visit the website to obtain needed information on our work in the Congress, as well as to let us know your concerns," Christensen said.
