Man Charged With Killing Girlfriend

Jan. 29, 2008 – St. Thomas Police arrested an unidentified man and charged him with first-degree murder just hours after he allegedly brutally attacked and killed his girlfriend.
Witnesses in the Frenchman's Bay area alerted the V.I. Police Department to suspicious activity at approximately 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to Police spokeswoman Melody Rames.
After police responded to the scene, the unidentified woman was taken by ambulance to the Schneider Regional Medical Center, where she later died.
Police then "mounted an all-out search" for the suspect, Rames said, and he was found and arrested.
She said more information would be forthcoming around midday.
