Volunteers Needed to Clean Up Salt Pond

Feb. 13, 2008 – The fourth community-wide clean up effort of the Red Hook Salt Pond will take place at 7 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 16, according to a press release from the Red Hook Community Alliance.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the dirt road east of the Red Hook pond and to wear long pants, work shoes, a long sleeved shirt and gloves. Water and trash bags will be provided. First aid kits and hand sanitizer will be available. This cleanup is an important step toward prepping the pond for the installation of a boardwalk, viewing platforms and signage.
