Special Education Hosts Parent Empowerment Workshop

Feb. 15, 2008 – A Parent Empowerment Workshop is scheduled for 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at Schneider Regional Medical Center, St. Thomas. The workshop is a collaborative effort of the State Office of Special Education, the Virgin Islands Family Information Network on Disabilities and the V.I. University Center for Excellence on Developmental Disabilities, according to the State Director of the Office of Special Education Carrie Johns.
The discussion topics are the Individuals with Disabilities Act 2004 and Individualized Educational Plans.
