Lottery Chief Flemming Is Out

March 9, 2008 — V.I. Lottery Director Paul Flemming is apparently out of a job, according to government and private sources.
One source, who requested anonymity for fear of being fired, said Flemming had planned to step down March 25. But the locks were changed on Flemming's office Friday afternoon, according to several witnesses. Information was downloaded from some computers and other computers were reportedly taken from the office. Sources said employees were told to report to Lenyse Shomo rather than Flemming for the time being.
Calls to the Office of the Governor Sunday were not returned, and Flemming could not be reached for comment.
