Weekend Results for Elmo Plaskett East Little League

March 10, 2008 — Weekend action in the Elmo Plaskett East Little League at the D.C. Canegata Ball Park featured wins by the Dodgers, Angels and Suns.
In the first game Friday in the 5-6 pee wee division, the Reds edged the L'il Angels 16-15. The Reds had 16 runs on 12 hits, and the L'il Angels scored 15 runs on 11 hits. Top hitters for the Reds were Julio Carmona III, 1 for 2 with a home run and two RBIs; Jase Zachary, 2 for 2 with one RBI; and Slade Zepphuar, 1 for 2 with a home run and two RBIs. For the L'il Angels, Abigail Derweer went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and Jonathan Dennis went 3 for 3 with two RBIs.
Dodgers 17, Angels 15
Game two on Friday saw the Dodgers slip by the Angels 17-15 in a 10-12 division contest. The Dodgers scored 17 runs on 14 hits with three errors, while the Angels had 15 runs on nine hits with two errors. D'ondre Simmonds picked up the win on the hill for the Dodgers, while Bryan Encarnacion got the loss for the Angels. Top hitters for the Dodgers were Marco Rhymer, 3 for 3 with two RBIs, and Jashawn Graham and Romani Hansen, 2 for 3 with one RBI apiece.
Two games were contested Saturday in the 10-12 division. In game one, the Angels routed the Yankees 14-4, and in game two the Suns slipped by the Dodgers 3-1.
Angels 14, Yankees 4
In game one, the Angels routed the Yankees 14-4. The Angels scored 14 runs on seven hits with three errors, while the Yankees plated four runs on five hits while committing two errors. The winning pitcher was Akeem Reefer, with the Yankees' Tikoy Felix picking up the loss. Top hitters for the Angels were Evanson Mathew, 3 for 4 with one RBI, and Shyeem Gilbert, 1 for 2 with one RBI. For the Yankees, Felix went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Lakish Plante went 2 for 3 with one RBI.
Suns 3, Dodgers 1
In game two Saturday, the Suns slipped by the Dodgers 3-1. The Suns had three runs on two hits with two errors, while the Dodgers scored one run on two hits while committing three errors. The winning pitcher was Nayie Gonzales, and Marco Rhymer got the loss for the Dodgers. Top hitters for the Suns were Christopher Joseph and Jasheim Richardson, both 1 for 2 with one RBI each. For the Dodgers, D'ondre Simmonds went 2 for 3 with one RBI.
In the lone contest Sunday, the Suns blew by the L'il Yankees 14-5. The Suns plated 14 runs on nine hits with three errors, while the L'il Yankees scored five runs on five hits with two errors. The winning pitcher was Amanti Todman, while Harold Brown III got the loss for the L'il Yankees. Top hitters for the Suns were Todman, 3 for 3 with a home run and five RBIs, and Devante Baily, 2 for 2 with one RBI. For the L'il Yankees, Brown III went 1 for 1 with one RBI and Malik Williams went 1 for 2 with two RBIs.
