March 18, 2008 – Due to Easter week, all Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority customer service offices will be closed from Thursday through Monday, March 20-24. To ease the inconvenience of long payment lines, St. Croix and St. Thomas customer offices will reopen on Tuesday and Wednesday with extended hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and St. John offices will reopen on Tuesday at 8 a.m., according to a press release from WAPA.
St. Thomas and St. John water standpipes will be closed on Friday. The St. Croix standpipe will close Friday and Monday. Customers can make payment on line at www.viwapa.vi using Visa, MasterCard, or Amercian Express. Customers without a PIN number should request one online prior to close of business on Wednesday, March 19. Payment can also be made at WAPA drop boxes, by mail or at participating banks. .
Customers with electrical or water emergencies on St. Croix can call 773-2250 or 773-0150. On St. Thomas, St. John or Water Island, electrical emergencies should be reported to 774-1424 and water emergencies to 775-5873.
