Dear Source:
I was appalled but unfortunately, not surprised, at Adelbert Bryan's racist display. If Mr. Bryan cannot or will not accept the fact that he is to represent all segments of our varied community then is not performing up to the standards of his fiduciary responsibilities. If he cannot put aside his private feelings and attitudes in order to serve our entire community, then he should either withdraw himself or be removed from his position as a Delegate to the Constitutional Convention. This is no place to continue to portray his well known attitudes of divisiveness and racism.
I was extremely disappointed by the performance of all of the other Delegates, with the exception of Delegate Monsanto, in allowing Mr. Bryan to be insulting to any member of our community. They should have all gotten up and walked out to show Mr. Bryan that he stands alone and they will not condone this embarrassing behavior, either now or in the future. Unless, of course, by their failure to collectively show Mr. Bryan that his attitude and rudeness shall not be tolerated, they are in silent agreement with him. If that is the case, they all need to be removed. What's that old saying about one bad apple.?
