Alert: Rotating Power Outages Continuing into Evening Hours

May 12, 2008 – The Water and Power Authority is continuing to experience problems with two of its generating units in the St. Thomas Randolph Harley Power Plant which caused rotating service interruptions Monday. The update as of 3:30 p.m. is as follows:
3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Feeder No.9C including Estates Hoffman, Mariendahl, Nadir, Bovoni, Frydenjoj, Bolongo Bay and Frenchman’s Bay in the vicinity of Donkey Hill
5:30. to 7:30 p.m.
Feeder No. 9A including, Backstreet, Government Hill, Education Street, St. Peter’s and Paul Catholic School, a section of Savan, a section of Frenchtown including the vicinity of the gas station and Ackley Communications radio stations, and WAPA’s Administration Building
Some large power users have been asked to operate on generator power until further notice including: Frenchman’s Reef, Ritz-Carlton, Westin, and Caneel Bay Hotels and the Tutu Park Mall.
