Job Fair This Weekend Will Showcase Corrections Work

June 3, 2008 — Close to 150 jobs in the Department of Corrections are waiting for you to apply this weekend at Sunny Isles Shopping Center.
The Division of Personnel is holding a career fair from noon to six Friday and Saturday in the Sunny Isles Amphitheater. It is looking for 91 corrections officers and a wide spectrum of other professionals. The division needs nurses, a psychiatrist, a storekeeper, correctional counselors, maintenance professionals, kitchen workers and managers, laundry workers and others.
The jobs have extensive government benefits, including retirement plans; health, dental and life insurance; disability plans; and more. They have sick leave, annual and vacation leave, paid holidays and negotiable salaries. The jobs are open to qualified applicants. Corrections experience or experience in the work you're applying for is useful. The division needs people with associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in fields such as social sciences, law enforcement and nursing. Full job listings for Corrections and other V.I.
