Vendors and Cooks Sought for Mango Melee

June 4, 2008 – The 12th annual Mango Melee and Tropical Fruit Festival will be held at 6:30 p.m., on Sunday, July 6, at St. George Village Botanical Garden.
Organizers are encouraging vendors of crafts and local food and drinks to sign up for their favorite spot by coming to the garden between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
"We already have lots of vendors signed up," said the SGVBG's administrative director, Lesley Hoffman. "Anyone who wants to make sure they get their regular spot should come in as soon as possible."
Contestants are also being sought for the 4th annual Mango Dis, Mango Dat Food Competition.
"There are four categories in this popular activity," Hoffman said, "and the main ingredient in all recipes must be mangoes. Again, come in to the office and sign up. There is a small entry fee with cash prizes in all categories."
