Education HR Will Issue Picture IDs to Employees

June 28, 2008 – All St. Thomas-St. John District school employees will be issued picture IDs between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., beginning Monday, June 30 through Wednesday, July 2. A Division of Human Resources representative will be stationed at the Charlotte Amalie High School to issue picture IDs for all teachers, paraprofessionals and support staff, according to a press release from Human Resources Director for the Virgin Islands Department of Education Alscess Lewis-Brown.
Lewis-Brown said, "The implementation of the new ID badges supports the security and integrity of the workplace and also enables a sense of community among education staff. It is easier for employees to assist the enforcement of building security by noticing when persons without employee ID badges enter buildings or restricted areas.
"We request the full cooperation of all employees and look forward to their participation in this mandatory process."
