Police: Body Found in East End House was Homicide Victim

Aug. 13, 2008 — An unidentified man whose body was found Friday near Cabrita Point died of blunt force trauma to the head, making his death a homicide, police said Wednesday.
Police were dispatched to the Cabrita Point area around 11:09 a.m. Friday after someone reported finding a body in an abandoned house across from the old Cabrita Point guard booth. Officers responding to the scene found the decomposing body of a white male inside. The body appeared to have been there for several days, according to a recent V.I. Police Department news release.
Cause of death was not released until Wednesday, after a local medical examiner found that the victim had suffered blunt force trauma to the head.
Police are asking residents with information on any missing persons — particularly those who may have frequented the Cabrita Point or Red Hook areas — to call the Major Crime Unit at 715-5545, 715-5534, 715-5544 or emergency 911. Residents can also call the district police chief's office at 715-5548.
