Sticking by Chief Benta

Dear Source:

I was encouraged by the response regarding Acting Police Chief Benta. He was a witness testifying in the Prosser bankruptcy proceedings and I certainly did not mean to imply that he was guilty of anything except ignorance of facts he should have been aware of. He is, by Ms Challenger's assessment, a very effective leader. I am happy that her grandmother's neighborhood has been made safer. I wish the police would get out of their dark-tinted SUVs and get to know the people and neighborhoods of St John. But then again, considering the surly, power-trip attitude of some I've seen, maybe it's best they just ride around, running stop signs and talking on their cell phones. It is nice to hear good things about our police now and then.
