Kingshill Lutheran Church Hosts a Prayer Breakfast for the Family

Sept. 12, 2008 – Kingshill Lutheran Church will host its 2nd annual "Reality and Choice: Prayer Breakfast for the Family" from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 13, on the church grounds and in the parish hall. The entire community is invited and admission is free and a light breakfast and lunch will be served.
The program is designed to inspire parents and children to make appropriate decisions and choices about values, music, language, the law, health awareness and school responsibilities, as they begin the 2008-2009 school year.
This is a non-denominational activity with interactive presentations for parents, students (junior and senior high), educators, clergy and the general community. Guest presenters invited to participate include: Acting Chief Oakland Benta, Carl NbKaRa Christopher, Father Kenneth Gaddy, Oceana James, ChenziRa "Dr. Chen" Kahina, Marin Roebuck, Deanna Sackey, Shelton Shulterbrandt, Father Edward Thompson and Kurt Vialet.
Pastor Thelma Youngblood of Kingshill Lutheran Church and principal organizer of the program reminds everyone that they are observing aberrant behaviors from the youth. Adults are responsible for assisting them in addressing negative behavior and succeeding as adults in life. For our "reality and choice" to improve, our church and community circles must unite and support each other in changing the agenda for our youth.
