No Mercy Gives Painkillers Painful 20-0 Whipping

Sept. 29, 2008 — On Sunday in Quarren Schjang Women's Softball action, No Mercy showed the Painkillers absolutely no mercy in blasting them 20-0 in five innings at the D.C. Canegata Ballpark.
Wildness by the Painkillers' starting pitching resulted in five walks in the first inning. No Mercy took full advantage of to score nine times in the inning. No Mercy would add six more runs in the second inning and five in the fourth to pull out the one-sided victory.
The Painkillers' pitching gave up 12 bases on balls along with four errors, which proved too much to overcome against a good No Mercy team.
No Mercy's ace pitcher, the veteran Marie Encarnacion, allowed just two hits over five innings of work to pick up the win, while Koreen Francis got the loss for the Painkillers. Top hitters for No Mercy were Danisha Samuel, who went 2 for 3 with two RBIs; Patricia Smith, 2 for 4 with two RBIs; and Shandilise Hernandez, 2 for 3. For the Painkillers, Camille Christian and Shanae Liburd both went 1 for 2.
Thymes 15, Angels 4
In the day's other game, the Thymes beat the angels 15-4 in five innings. It was the Thymes with 15 runs on 11 hits and three errors, while the Angels had four runs on five hits with four errors.
The winning pitcher was Ge'lisa James, with Rochelle Felix getting the loss for the Angels. Top hitters for the Thymes were Kanisha Woodrup and Lutisha Phillips, both 3 for 3 with two RBIs, and James, 1 for 3 with one RBI. For the Angels, Felix went 1 for 3 with one RBI and Angela Diaz went 1 for 3.
